The problem of acid-alkaline balance is a very important subject from the viewpoint of science and medicine. Many scientists expressed their opinions on that subject over the years. Contemporary medicine starts to prove the idea, which for many people is totally unknown, that alkalinity and acidity of our bodies decide about our health or illness. Dr. Keiichi Morishita in his book, “The Hidden Truth of Cancer”, states that if the blood develops a more acidic condition, then these acidic wastes have to be deposited somewhere in the body – this is the only way to lower its influence and to keep blood alkalinity.If this unhealthy process continues year after year, these areas steadily increase in acidity, and their cells begin to die. Other cells in the affected area may survive by becoming abnormal; these are called malignant. Malignant cells do not respond to brain commands. They undergo a cellular division that is out of control. This is called cancer.
Herman Aihara in his book, “Acid & Alkaline”, states that, “If the condition of our extra cellular fluids, especially the blood, becomes acidic, our physical condition will first manifest tiredness, proneness to catching colds, etc. When these fluids become more acidic, our condition then manifests pains and suffering such as headaches, chest pains, stomach aches, etc.”
German biochemist Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize in 1931 for his research into cellular respiration, showing that cancer thrives in anaerobic or acidic conditions. He postulated the main biochemical cause of cancerous cells, i.e. discovered how cancerous cells differ from healthy cells. In his book “The Metabolism of Tumours” the scientist states that the cause is lack of oxygen in cells. The cell energy is low and instead of decomposition of glucose, the fermentation of glucose takes place: a process of metabolism in low oxygen environments is called fermentation, where a side product is lactic acid. It is easy to understand that if these processes continue for a long period of time, the level of acidity of a body is growing; cell pH becomes lower from pH 7.2 (healthy cells) to pH 7-6.5 (the early stages of cancer), and then to pH 6 or lower (metastasis).
In 1933 US doctor, William Howard Hay, first published his book, “A New Health Era”, in which he argued that all disease is manifested by what he called, ‘auto-toxication’ or ‘self-poisoning’. “Now we depart from health in just the proportion to which we have allowed our alkalis to be dissipated by introduction of acid-forming food in too great amount… It may seem strange to say that all disease is the same thing, no matter what its myriad modes of expression, but it is verily so“

Like vitamins C, E and Beta Carotene, alkaline water acts as an antioxidant because if its excess supply of free electrons. This can help the body against the development of heart disease, strokes, immune dysfunctions, and other common ailments.”
Dr. Robert O. Young, PhD in his book, “The pH Miracle” says it this way: “Those willing to look again, and with clear eyes, will be rewarded with the secrets to permanent health. We can heal ourselves by changing the environment inside our bodies. Potentially harmful invaders, then, will have nowhere to grow and will become harmless.” “The pH level of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. Extended acid imbalances of any kind are not well tolerated…. Indeed, the entire metabolic process depends on a balanced internal alkaline environment .A chronically over-acidic pH corrodes body tissue, slowly eating into the 60,000 miles of veins and arteries like acid eating into marble. The studies of Walter Irlacher, a doctor of medicine, on effects of alkaline water to blood characteristics and in treatment of diseases that were caused or complicated by the body acidosis became a real sensation in Germany. This scientist used a phasic-contrastive microscopy (Dunkelfeldmikroskopie)for his studies.
Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi – Director of the Water Institute, Tokyo “Bad diets such as meat and potatoes, fried foods, soft drink colas, and sugars build up acid salts in the body. Often these deposits, by having to be stored away from the blood flow, can remain in the body for decades. I recommend the consumption of ionized alkaline water, which will slowly and gently wash these salts away.”
Scientist D. Aschbach has announced very promising results of the clinical researches that were performed in Berlin Clinic of Activated Solutions Studies and Their Practical Application. The results included information about alkaline water effects in treating the diabetes of I and II type. Demand for injections of insulin after intake of alkaline water for 4-6 weeks decreased up to 70% and the amount of glucose in blood decreased up to 30%. Even after the end of alkaline water intake these indices were decreasing for 4 – 5 months. This data is confirmed by the studies of Japanese scientists as well.
